When I returned home after hearing the announcement about the United Cry DC16 event on April 9, I wondered what my wife would say. When I heard about this national pastors prayer event in Washington, D.C., my spirit was excited, and I wanted to be there. However, it is on the same weekend as our 40th wedding anniversary. I was born with a serious calcium deficiency that today could’ve prompted a mother to consider abortion. Pictures of my infancy reveal a sickly child looking like death warmed over.
There were no sonograms back then revealing a child’s in utero compartment of comfort. There was, though, an almost universal respect for the sanctity of life and my mom, being a staunch Catholic, would never have considered terminating my life. Continue Reading
Liberty Counsel President Mat Staver (YouTube)
This past Saturday in Orlando, Florida, over 1500 people packed a church building for the Awakening 2016 conference. Sponsored by Mat Staver’s Liberty Counsel, participants were inspired by speakers and ordinary citizens whose courageous actions challenged Planned Parenthood, Islamic radicalism and opponents of religious liberty. They’re making a definite difference today.

Preparing to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, my wife and I went to see “Motown the Musical” here in Music City USA. It was fantastic! We watched Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Four Tops, Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson sing their classic hits.

“The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Wake up before it’s too late!”
Soon Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth will celebrate its 10th anniversary. The film revealed the “grave” threat of global warming. On Jan. 26, 2006, The Washington Post stated Al “believes humanity may have only 10 years left to save the planet from turning into a total frying pan.”

“The shallow teapot does the most spouting and boils dry most quickly.”—Chinese proverb
“Mark well your habits—they will either make or mar you.”—American maxim
This ancient wisdom came to mind when I reflected on Saturday evening’s Republican debate in South Carolina. More specifically, Donald Trump’s ongoing rude and obnoxious behavior left many onlookers deeply disturbed and embarrassed. The location of the debate in the heart of the Bible Belt—where decorum, southern hospitality and good manners still count for something—made it all the more unsavory. It may also prove to be a turning point in Mr. Trump’s pursuit of the presidency.

Hypocritical Hillary? “I’m Christian… Study Bible…Here’s What’s Most Important.”
The current Pew Research Faith Poll reveals a “massive 19 point increase among those saying Hillary Clinton is ‘not too’ or ‘not at all’ religious.” Are her statements regarding her religion hollow and hypocritical?
Recently, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said the following while campaigning: “I’m a Christian and a Methodist.” She then said, her “study of the Bible led me to believe the most important commandment is to love the Lord with all your might and to love your neighbor as yourself.”
USA Today published the results of a national survey among 18 to 31 year-olds regarding living together. A whopping 76% of young Americans said that cohabitation before marriage is fine.
If you have children or grandchildren, do you think they’re being influenced by this cultural trend? It’s on television, in movies and commonplace among celebrities and sports heroes.
